Event Management for Bloomsbury Book Launch
New author Tom Campbell approached Spark & Fuse to organise an event which would tie in with the launch of his first novel, Fold. As a vocal supporter of small businesses, he wanted the event to take place in his local book store in North London.
The brief was to keep the event simple and costs low, but still ensure guests felt welcomed, were well looked after and enjoyed the evening. We started by designing an e-vite which we mailed and managed on Tom’s behalf, keeping a track of numbers. We carefully chose beverages to ensure we kept to budget without compromising on quality. And we manned the event ourselves – no agency staff – using the shop counter as a bar area and setting up an efficient service area. Guests’ glasses were never empty! We ensured the shop had a window display to coincide with the event and our in-house designer created some themed displays inside the store.
We proved that even on a small budget, an event planning agency can make all the difference between an average event and a great event. And the bookshop owner was impressed by how tidy we left her premises!
